Hello everyone, here are some more life lessons learned. I shared a similar post
5 months back and no other post from me since then. You can say I was busy learning these life lessons.
Slumps are real
I started a contract with a company which was doing well apparently. They were growing in terms of work and number of minds to solve problems and serve their clients. Yet they need someone to work on a project as a contractor. So I decided to accept the offer.
It was all going well when I realize that my payments are getting delayed irrespective of good quality and timely delivery of work from my side. During that I have started getting news of rapid down-sizing and employees leaving the company for equal better opportunities. I was also noticing a decline of work load on my end, but for some reasons, I didn’t ask to clear my payments at the time. And when I did, unfortunately my payments got delayed as their end client refused to clear some payments.
So the point here is that slumps are real. Even the people and companies doing really well sometime fall and hit rock bottom in some circumstances.
There is a Punjabi saying “Paisa ohi jaira palay” means only trust on the cash in your hand. One of the people I really admired as my mentor used to say that very often to me.
But, I didn’t realize the importance of this until a personal experience. Long story short, I was short of cash and I had some in an account. For some reason, I decided not to withdraw those right away before some domestic holidays. And when the need arise I wasn’t able to complete the transaction. It was a total bummer. But, it helps me understand that only the cash in your hand or wallet is real, trustable, dependable, etc. You can’t even trust on banks and any other service, because, those also have their own limitations.
Life is unpredictable and there should be less secrets
May Allah keep showering his blessings on all of us, our family, friends and all those who have left us.
Life is unpredictable and all of us already know this. But, sometime we don’t understand or agree with this until we saw this with our own eyes or experience this. Life is very unpredictable; We plan for years and in reality we don’t really know what is going to happen even in the very next minute.
By human nature, we don’t share everything (especially financial and business information) even with the people very close to us, our friends and family. We should start sharing it with our family and people we trust. Now information that we share and the way we share it with others will different. But what really matters is that we shouldn’t have any secrets. And in the end its your call whether you would really like to share anything or not.
