How to complete that “First Step” towards your Goal?

Whether you want to start your own blog?

Whether you want to start a new company?
Whether you want to start a new project?
Completing that “First Step” is the most critical part of your journey towards that Goal. But all of us have some fears or barriers that stop us from doing so. And we are too afraid that we don’t even start.
First let’s talk about two of those fears or barriers.

Fear of Failure/Rejection

I always wanted to start my own blog and my own software development company. But, I was so afraid of doing so because of many different reasons and one of those was fear of Failure/Rejection.
I was afraid of failing because of a typical mindset that say “Failure” is end of world and there can’t be a success if you fail somewhere at the very start of your journey.
But, I realize that it does not matter. Everyone fails, everyone makes mistakes. We just need to learn from our mistakes.
And nothing is going to happen if you don’t even start because you are too afraid to “Fail” or being rejected.
Similarly, nothing is going to change if you don’t start and complete the first step.
So to “Fail” at something you need to take the first step towards your goal. And to start we need to come over the fear of “Failure/Rejection”.

Fear of other people views and thoughts

Just forget about what other people think or say.
Not doing something that you love because you worry too much and give importance to other people’s views about yourself is another barrier that you need to cross.
Many of us are not able to start because we give too much importance to what other people say and think about us.
People are going to talk even if you have a success or a failure. They are going to talk in any case.
They will talk and will be jealous if you have a success. But they will talk and feel pity or make fun of you if you have a Failure.
We can’t change someone’s view and thoughts about us in any case. We can’t ask them not to say something we don’t like or vice versa.
Because, they just need something to talk about. Right!
So choice is yours own.
Here comes another question. What if we are able to come over all fears or cross all the barriers and still are not able to start and complete the “First Step”?

“Do it” mindset

Most of us lack this mindset.
It might be because we are too lazy or we lack energy. It might be because we don’t have enough resources. It can be anything like this.
But, to me, this is just a mindset or feeling. To me, it’s just our inner voice. So, it can be anything.
I strongly believe that as a human being, we have everything we need to reach our goal and destiny. Every one of us have their own unique power and abilities.
It is just that we need to change our mindset and recognize our real potential. After that we need to collect all the energy and say that I am going to do this no matter what.
So “Do it” mindset is very important. And to have this mindset or get into this feeling we need to find a sense of purpose in everything we do, in our Goals.
When we have this. Nothing is going to stop us.
And believe me this “First Step” is the most difficult step of your journey. Because, when you start getting the feeling of achievement and accomplishing something. It will be a lot easier for you to keep going on and doing what is necessary to reach your final goal.

Agree! Fear of failure always stop people to take initial step.

    Nice article!
    i want to know something.
Have you taken that first step? If so then when did you take that step?
Do you think you took that step on the right time or you should start earlier?

    Dear Agha,

You're mixing up so many things. I have taken that first step more than once for different goals. And it's never too late for anything.

    Thank you.
